Almost all recommendations for aerobic exercise are the same for adults ages 18 – 64 years and for adults 65 years and older. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) on Exercise and Physical Activity for Older Adults. (2009). In 2018 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services published Physical Activity for Americans, 2nd ed. both recommend at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise most days. Read more.

RBR’S STAN PURDUM REPLIES: “Hold your line” applies to both bike racing and group rides — even when the group is only two riders. In bike racing, “Hold your line” is a command from another rider for you to maintain your position, relative to other riders and to the edge of the road. Read more.

QUESTION: I’m in Louisiana. It’s not cold here. It doesn’t snow. Winter riding should be easy. But the early darkness is killing me. I feel like it’s dangerous to ride when it’s dark.
